Meeting Contemporary Fly Chair by Zanotta

Fly is a sitting very unusual-looking, sophisticated and contemporary as few projects have been able to do: is one of those products with which Zanotta has pushed forward the research field of ‘furniture, as it did with the chair Inflatable Blow. Innovative design and great aesthetic appeal are his words of ‘order, its unusual shape allows its users to find the best position. Fly is the result of collaboration between the Italian brand and designer Mark Robson with the idea of inventing an unconventional meeting, open to different uses, comfortable, lightweight, transparent and stackable. Fly is made with materials of the highest order, among the most advanced, such as carbon fiber painted steel more expensive but also lighter, stronger and stiffer, and an upholstery fabric “share” transparent. Quote of the fabric seat is made of polyester and its appearance conceals hard reality but having elastic properties, ideal for a structure so unique and so well that supports the body shapes. Fly uses a technology until now reserved only for aeronautical and that of professional bicycle racing and Zanotta shown courage in addressing these fields unexplored. Robson was born in 1965 in Britain where he studied and now lives and works in France working with several European and American. Its products are in the permanent collections of several museums, including the London Design Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in Minneapolis. Fly has won prestigious awards including the Good Design Award in 2003.
